Nurture Provision (The Den)
The Den’s nurture provision curriculum typically focuses on supporting children who may struggle with the mainstream school environment due to social and emotional difficulties. The Den provision aims to create a safe, supportive space where pupils can develop essential skills, build confidence, and prepare for reintegration into mainstream education, if appropriate. An outline of key elements that the curriculum might include: Emotional Regulation: Teaching children how to recognize and manage their emotions. Social Skills: Activities focused on teamwork, sharing, turn-taking, and building relationships. Resilience and Self-Esteem: Helping pupils build confidence and cope with challenges. Therapeutic Interventions: Art therapy, play therapy, or talk time sessions tailored to individual needs. We follow the national curriculum, but tailor it to each child’s needs, abilities and interests.
