Harvest Celebrations at Gladstone
Supporting our local Foobank and The Dougie Mac
Our School Council have been working incredibly hard to plan this year’s Harvest celebrations, and we’re proud to share their thoughtful choices. After asking all the children at Gladstone which charities they would like to support, the votes were counted and two very worthy causes were chosen: our local Foodbank and Dougie Mac.
As part of our Harvest appeal, collected non-perishable food items to donate to the local foodbank. Foodbanks provide emergency food parcels to individuals and families in crisis—those who may be struggling due to rising living costs, unexpected bills, or sudden changes in circumstances. Every tin, packet, or jar made a big difference to someone in need, and your support helps ensures that no one in our community goes hungry.

Children were invited to come to school in their own clothes and give a monetry donation on October 20th. All money raised went to Dougie Mac—a local hospice that provides specialist care for people living with life-limiting illnesses. Dougie Mac offers support not only to patients but also to their families, helping them through some of the most difficult times with compassion, dignity, and warmth. Many of our own Gladstone families have been touched by the incredible work they do, making this a charity that is very close to our hearts.
Thank you for your generosity and continued support. Together, we made a real difference this Harvest.

Guide Dogs for the Blind
We support 'The Guide Dogs for the Blind' and we are currently sponsoring 3 Guide Dogs. It is lovely to find out how they are getting on when we receive our regular pupdates. Meet our lovely guide dogs, Walter, Frank and Hazel!
The School Council chose this wonderful charity to support and the children really enjoyed raising money. Again, the charity fundraising events were chosen by the children and each class had a different focus. Here are some photographs below.
