Primary Academy

We Are All Equally Different

Welcome to our website !

It has been my privilege to be Headteacher at Gladstone Primary School from September 2007,  having already worked at the school for 9 years as Deputy Headteacher. Gladstone Primary School was formed in September 2004 by the amalgamation of 2 very successful schools, Adderley Green Infants and Woodhouse Junior Schools.  Unfortunately, for 5 years we had to operate on 2 sites waiting for our new building to be constructed.

As you can imagine it was a very special day for us on Monday, 14th September 2009, when the doors of the new school were opened to pupils for the first time and we all came together in our fantastic ‘state of the arts’ building. Time seems to have flown by so quickly though, and we can not believe that this year the building is 12 years old!

In September 2017 we experienced even more changes as we chose to became an academy as part of the Societas Trust and we continue to work very closely with other members of the 'Societas Family' - Alsager's Bank, Ash Green, Ellison, Goldenhill and Summerbank Primary Academies and our associate academies, Oaklands Nursery and Carmountside.

At Gladstone we stress that as people ‘we are all equally different’ and have an exciting curriculum which develops and celebrates pupils’ gifts and talents across the whole primary curriculum.

Everyone who visits Gladstone is impressed with the very special atmosphere that exists, the behaviour and attitudes of the children and the excellent relationships that exist between school, parents and the wider community.

It is difficult on a web site to do justice to  what we believe to be a  very special school and I hope that the website will give you a quick ‘snap shot of’  and ‘feel for’  life at Gladstone. We are still developing some pages so please be patient with us :-).

I can not imagine wanting to work anywhere else and hope that you will be able to see why!

If you have any questions or require a paper copy of any of the information on the website please get in touch -we will be only too pleased to help or chat with you.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Elaine Preston
